Follow Hobart Naturopath

Many people seek out the help of a naturopath when symptoms are a vague mix of fatigue, sometimes pain and lack of motivation.

Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia are characterised by debilitating fatigue and occasionally a plethora of seemingly unrelated symptoms such as joint pain which can severely impact quality of life for the sufferer.

Fatigue is also a symptom of many other illness and conditions including iron deficiency and low thyroid function. If these have not already been tested for and eliminated, we will often suggest seeing your GP for blood tests.

Once a diagnosis is made or eliminated, there is much that can be achieved and improved with a combination of herbal and nutritional support and dietary and lifestyle interventions.

Fatigue and lack of motivation can also be a symptom of an existing anxiety disorder or depression, or a response to long-term stress and these may also respond to herbal and nutritional intervention.

PSP and PSK have been investigated as adjuvant medicines during chemotherapy and radiation. Studies have found that these immune enhancing polysaccharides enhance quality of life of cancer patients.
